You don't happen to have implemented PrettyPhoto in the Aperture template?

Ha haa. No I didn't. It isn't in the original WP version (which I thought was missing a trick considering this is aimed at photo/portfolio type sites) but if you can wait until the weekend I can get it set up and send over the required form template changes. I have updated the demo site to use the latest SVN version of Txp. I always use it anyway for thebombsite and Textgarden and I am just waiting for the public release to update the existing downloads, plus I have a couple of other themes "waiting in the wings" which I can't actually release yet. Point is I can update the demo version of Aperture then send you the mods.
If you can't wait for 4.3.0 I can email you a copy of my Txp version. It is quite stable but at the moment we are in RC1 stage which means there may still be some slight modifications before the public release.
I mention this because your theme uses a plugin called upm_image but there is now a new tag, <txp:image_list />, which can do everything the plugin can so you could get your theme well up-to-date. You would also be able to install the beautiful "Vitraux" admin theme and join the dark side. Go look at http://textgarden.org/administration-themes/249/vitraux.
Nice! Yes, thanks and yes to it all!
I was just about to write that the funny thing is, I really like the native txp admin theme, and then I clicked your vitraux link: Whoa! The native in black Aperture! Yes, gimme! lol
later: Ah didn't notice the tabs were gone in Vitrauz. Sry I like the native gui with tabs—that's part of why I returned to TXP, this very elegant, yellow interface. I haven't seen it anywhere else, and I like it! ![]()
btw: If I use the latest svn branch of 4.2, is that actually 4.3? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I just noticed they said 4.3 would still show up as 4.2...
OK David. I have the demo set up so go and have a look at it here http://demos.thebombsite.com/aperture/.
You can have a look at all of it but in particular have a look at this article - http://demos.thebombsite.com/aperture/p … dummy-post - because it has a "caption" added to it. I haven't used the caption in the page because there really isn't anywhere to put it without messing with the layout but you will see it when hovering over the image plus when you are viewing the "PrettyPhoto" display it appears under the image and the article title appears above the image.
Also go and have a look at this article - http://demos.thebombsite.com/aperture/a … l-elements - because it contains images within the article body. This time we have the styling to be able to display the caption on the page plus we have "PrettyPhoto" here as well.
Captions are added on the "Images" tab so if you want one you can simply edit any existing image or add it when adding a new image.
How does that grab ya?
I'm off to eat now and other than checking back here to see what you think I shall not be doing anything else on-line until tomorrow (I've been at it for about 5 hours already though not for this) when I shall sort out all the templates you need.
With the advent of 4.3.0 there is a new tab that has been added. You don't see it unless there is a plugin to use it and guess what? I have a new plugin to use it so you will be getting that as well. I shan't disclose what it does. It's a surprise. I hope you remember how to install a plugin manually. If not it is in the docs on the "Plugins" page relating to the mem_templates plugin.
Very very nice! Thanks!
I've just been doing some tweaks to the new code. I'm a bit particular with stuff so I end up looking at it about half a dozen times and tweaking where necessary until I'm satisfied. People are paying for these themes so I think they deserve the best. I have to go out for an hour or so and I shall get everything together for you when I get back assuming that you still want to upgrade. If not you will have to wait for the official 4.3.0 release as the new code is using new tags.
Anyway, just reviewing your edits above, no it isn't the official 4.3.0 yet. We are still at the RC1 stage but never-the-less it is stable and perfectly usable for your own site. There are some minor things that need sorting but they don't affect the site itself, they are more to do with the admin side. Until 4.3.0 is official the admin will still display itself as 4.2.0
As for Vitraux, it uses drop-down menus similar to the way that Remora displays them only a lot nicer. There is no reason why you shouldn't have Vitraux installed so that you can try it out. If you don't like it you can simply switch back to your preferred theme via the "Preferences/Advanced" tab. Did you know that you already have 2 admin themes available? You can have as many as you like. It's simple to install and switch between them.
It sounds good with the admin Vitraux choice. Is there a link for svn link for 4.3, like http://textpattern.googlecode.com/svn/r … .0/source/ ??
- so I can use the svn myself? I use the 4.2.0 now, you see. ![]()
Yes, I still want to upgrade.
I like the 'being particular' bit. ![]()
I'm using TortoiseSVN and I believe that the URL you need is http://textpattern.googlecode.com/svn/development/4.x but I was going to email the latest SVN to you if you don't want to go down that route yourself.
Now then, there are certain things that need to be done via FTP yourself to get this upgrade in place but as far as the template changes are concerned it might be simpler if you could send me a login for the site and I can just copy/paste them across.
I would need to know if you have made any changes to templates including CSS so that I can keep an eye out for them.
Your part would be to upload the new Txp version, the PrettyPhoto files and the thumb.php file which will replace the image.php file.
Thanks, I am using Coda from panic.com. I don't think I have made any changes to the CSS. Okay, I'll find the PrettyPhoto files and upload them. Got the latest svn of TXP now.
...eh... the thumb.php file? ![]()
Thank you, Stuart, for a magnificent job!
My pleasure.
