Twitter Widget

As I go through the demo sites I find odd things that are out-of-date and Twitter is just a pain in the arse or PITA as we know it around here. Anyway the twitter widget for Coffee Break needs some modifications.

First of all you need to get an updated javascript from http://code.google.com/p/twitterjs/down … n=2&q=. Once you have unzipped the file upload the twitter2.js file which you will find in the "src" folder to the "site-design/js/" folder of your site and delete the existing "twitter-1.12.2.js" file.

Now go into Textpattern admin and open the "cb_twitter_head" form template. Replace the first line of the template with:-

<script src="<txp:site_url />site-design/js/twitter2.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script>

which will call the new javascript file.

That should crack the display problem but there is another minor change which Twitter has decided to force upon us. Open up the "cb_widget_twitter" form template and add the "@" sign in this line:-

<p class="follow"><a href="http://www.twitter.com/@<txp:variable name="widget_twitter_account_name" />">Follow us on Twitter</a></p>

That should make the "follow" link work properly.

Captions in PrettyBox

Me again

Is there any easy way to get PrettyBox to use the image caption field? I've been using a number of Flickr Creative Commons photographs and would like to link back to the original through the caption field. However, when clicking on an image the PrettyBox window uses the image title both as a header and as the image caption which seems a bit redundant.

Best, Oliver

Finding forms

Stuart,

got to admit, I've somewhat bewildered (and probably missing the obvious) after searching through the Textpattern admin pages for an hour. Newbie alert.

The Coffeebreak default installation displays a number of things that I cannot find in the sections/pages/forms area. For example, the 'cb_frontpage' calls a form called 'cb_header' which probably includes the top link area (Home / Services / Blog) which I'd like to edit -- but I can't for the life of me find it.

Likewise, the bottom area has a contact us and company area which is supposed to have its own widget form, but I'm at a loss where to find those. The 'cb_sidebar' form is there (along with twitter), but damned if I can find where it is. You get the idea

Am I missing any particular section of the installation?

(Btw, the default slider came up empty, but I figured that one out -- given that there's a default slider image in the theme's directories I'm wondering if something went wrong).
